BAXTER SPRINGS HERITAGE CENTER & MUSEUM

The Baxter Springs Heritage Center & Museum, under the direction of the Baxter Springs Historical Society, is located just off historic Route 66 (Highway 69 Alt.). The museum provides an educational and well-documented presentation of the region's history from all eras: Native Americans, African-Americans (who formed the bulk of the Civil War units), domestic life, mining, Route 66, etc.
