This area is strictly not recommended by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Coming from Bahareyya, the yellow sand and black rocks are followed by unusual limestone constructions. They are shaped like pyramids, mushrooms, icebergs, floating islands or igloos. In the middle of the day, when the sun is vertical, the effect is not as grandiose as in the evening or at first light, which is why it's imperative to bivouac there one night, and if you can, under a full moon, you'll be on another planet.
