Since 1885, Esch-sur-Sûre has been home to a candle-making company. It was owned by Christophe Goedert, but in 1992 it was taken over by John Peters after two years of closure. Today, the family business is in the hands of Jan Peters and still makes candles in the traditional way by hand. A store is located in the building. In addition to candles from the Käerzefabrik, there are also decorative metal items from Metal'Art.
