WATCHTOWER

The building, part of the former ironworks, was in ruins and its silhouette reminiscent of a watchtower, hence the name. Renovated in 2004, it now houses an environmental visitor center, as well as the offices of the local forester and the national headquarters of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), an international NGO whose label promotes the sustainable use of forests. The center is the starting point for educational trails and organizes a variety of outdoor activities. It also plays a role in raising awareness of nature.
