60 km north of Khartoum, the th and last Cataract of the Nile is a popular place for the locals on weekends. To get there, you have to take the Hostels road from Khartoum North, and leave the road to the right place to reach the Nile 5 km away. No sign. No public transport. Only granite hills in the west indicate the proximity of the "gutter" (Sabalouka is the name of the place in VO). The road leads to the top of a hill overhanging the cataract. A little before, Sidiq has a pretty shady garden on the edge of the river, with some animals. To see the cataract near by boat, it is better to be in group (100 SDG round round).
