Only kilometres from Pinsk, the village of Kudriči is a living museum of the Polésie of the late th century. Surrounded by marshes, in the midst of the rivers Yaselda, Pina and Pripyat, Kudriči retained its archaic appearance. The gravillonnée road linking the village to the "civilized world" dates from the end of the th century. Traditionally, its inhabitants were travelling by boat. Diving in a dazzling vegetation, old houses with straw roofs and reeds are dotted with storks. It is here that the largest white stork population is found. Next to houses, piles of hay, logs of wood all round and an old boat, indispensable to move when rivers overflowing. Kudriči transforms into a «Venice de la Polésie», with houses scattered on islands and streets reminiscent of canals. Even bee farming is done in the old world, in trunks of trees, as we did in the th century. In the centre of the village, the priceless wooden cross, typical of the villages of Polésie. Now there are only elderly people in Kudriči. Twice a week a small grocery truck brings the necessities. The village is unique. Kudriči is located on the Srednjaja Pripyat reserve, just away from the village a few steps to find itself in a true paradise for birdwatching. In the spring we admire white and black storks, grey herons and many other species that nidifient in Polésie.
