FRANCISCAN MONASTERY AND CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION OF THE VIRGIN MARY (ДЕВЫ ВОЗНЕСЕНИЯ МАРИИ КОСТЁЛ КОСТЁЛ МАРИИ И)

The church of Ascension is one of the oldest in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Originally built in wood, it was rebuilt in stone at the beginning of the th century. In baroque style, it consists of a nave and two side chapels. There are seven altars, six of them wooden and one with stucco. The interior is decorated with a golden wood engraving and seven small sculptures. The adjacent bell tower dates back to 1817.
