Bab Mansour el-Aleuj or "Gate of the victorious renegade", one of the most beautiful in Morocco, hosting temporary exhibitions
This majestic door has the real name Bab Mansour el-Aleuj, which means "the door of the victorious renegade". The architect of the complex that was to complete the work of Moulay Ismaïl was indeed a Christian converted to Islam. This door is rightly considered one of the most beautiful in Morocco and was only completed after the Sultan's death in 1732 by his son Moulay Abdellah. It is characterized by a chicane construction, designed to slow down the attackers. The interior of this imposing door is the site of temporary exhibitions.
