Ruins of the Merinid tomb in Fez, perfect for admiring the sun's rays that give the whole a fantastic hue.

The ruins of the tomb of the Merinids are located at the highest point of Fez. It is here that the last Marinid sultans are buried, while the first of them are buried in the Shellah's necropolis in Rabat. The ruins themselves are of limited interest, but the place certainly provides one of the most beautiful views of Fez, and certainly the most beautiful in Morocco on a city complex of such importance. The ideal is to go there at sunrise or sunset, when the low rays give the whole thing a fantastic hue. Beautiful! Beautiful!

The tomb of Mérénides is accessible by the road that goes back on the right to the height of Boujloub square. Follow the signs that lead to Borj Nord and continue a few hundred metres after the latter. The tomb of Mérénides is accessible by car from tourism (small parking at the foot of the last ascent towards the tomb). Exceptional views over the medina of Fez. Go there preferably at sunset, when you look at the medina, will be in your back.
