The museum, housed in the beautiful building of the former naval school, traces the naval epic of the Chilean navy through a collection of weapons, uniforms, models, official documents and even boat parts. It is divided into four periods: the Wars of Independence, the War against the Peruvian-Bolivian Confederation, the War against Spain and the Pacific War. Quite interesting.

Le musée était plus intéressant que je ne m'y attendais, avec une riche collection d'armes, d'œuvres d'art, d'uniformes et de maquettes de bateaux. Le musée se trouve sur une colline avec une superbe vue sur la ville et le port. Il est accessible par l'ascenseur Artilleria.

A la fois historique et technique ce musée montre bien l'importance de la navigation maritime dans l'histoire de ce pays et l'évolution dans le temps des navires et armes associées.
