Far less grandiose than the city's other cemeteries, this is where a number of European immigrants were buried who, contrary to what the cemetery's name might suggest, were not Marxist-Leninist rebels, but simply Protestants. Such was the case of the 40 North Americans who died in Valpo Bay in 1814, while their country was in the middle of a war (a naval war, in this case) against the British.
