Read moreThis viaduct, which is supported by nine massive arches, is designed for train traffic. It is located at Gotuwala, between Ella and Demodara stations. It was built in 1921, during the British colonial period and is 91.5 m long, 7.5 m wide and 24 m high. A real postcard of Sri Lanka, tourists flock to admire it and, if possible, to see a train passing by... The access from the east is relatively easy, except for the last few meters with a rather steep descent not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
