Road used to supply men and material to the Hartmannswillerkopf front at Bourbach-le-Haut

A supply route built during the First World War, this road brought men and supplies from the Doller valley to the Hartsmannwillerkopf front. At the Hundsrück pass (closed in winter), a monument pays tribute to the1st Shock Battalion who liberated the commune of Bourbach-le-Haut in 1944. The renovated road has gone from strategic to tourist attraction! It offers superb strolls for hikers, a good gradient for cyclists, fun twists and turns for bikers and farmhouse inns for gourmets.
