This theatre (Teatri Kombëtar i Kosovës, Narodno pozorište Kosova), founded in Prizren as the Provincial People's Theatre in 1945, moved to Pristina in 1946 when the present building was constructed. It is the main cultural organisation in the country. Since the end of the Kosovo war, it has taken its present name and most of its productions are staged in the Albanian language. The theatre also performs ballets and some plays are sometimes subtitled in English.
