FIRST LYCEE

This neoclassical building surrounded by trees is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Among its students were the founder of the socialist movement, Svetozar Marković, and two generals who collaborated with the French army in the East in 1915-1918, Putnik and Mišić. The high school has an important historical value: personalities such as Svetozar Marković, Stojan Protić, Nikola Pašić, Đura Jakšić, Radoje Domanović and Stevan Jakovljević passed through it. During World War II, 300 students and 18 teachers will be executed.
