MOVIE THEATER ALEKSANDAR LIFKA

After his studies in Vienna, Aleksandar Lifka went to Paris where he bought his first Pathé camera. During the 1900s, he filmed one of the residences of Emperor Franz Joseph and Queen Elizabeth in Gedeleu (Gödöllő), Hungary. During this occasion, he joined the Urania Science Theater (established by the Ministry of the Hungarian Academy of Natural Sciences). Lifka is thus the producer of the first "moving pictures" on Hungarian territory.
