FOUNTAIN OF THE FOUR LIONS

Built in 1799 to commemorate the establishment of the city's first sewage system, the Four Lions Fountain, designed in baroque style by a famous (at the time) Italian architect, is one of the most famous wonders of Sremski Karlovci. Legend has it that drinking from the fountain brings good luck and ensures that you will come back to the city to get married (which is also very famous for its young unmarried women, supposedly the most beautiful in the country).
