The museum is housed in the Mamula building, which for a long time was the military barracks of the Petrovaradin fortress.

The museum offers a complete panorama of life in Novi Sad in the 18th and 19th centuries. You will find both bourgeois furniture from the 19th century and typical popular interiors from the beginning of the 20th century.

In the underground you will find military galleries, built to defend the fortress. Visitors are allowed to see about 1 km of these galleries.
