KRONIĆ PALACE

The palace is one of the most beautiful private residences in the city, built in 1906 in an eclectic style of the early 20th century. Its rich decoration testifies to the importance of its founder, Stevan Kronić, a lawyer and notable of the time. It is located just outside the old rectangle on Živojina Mišića Street. Having become a student dormitory after the family's ruin, it was turned into the headquarters of the fascist political police that occupied the area. Many victims were tortured and killed there. Today it is the seat of the city's commercial court.
