Travel Guide Kukonje Island

This island, isolated to the east of Sowa Pan, is accessible from Nata and Letlhakane with a good 4 x 4, by a track that follows the pan, from which one reaches the island. In the rainy season, it is not possible to access this small piece of land. Also called Kokoro Island, the island is sacred to the Kalanga people. It has a small camping site. If this island does not exert a fascination like Lekhubu, it offers however a charming scenery and an equally incredible view of Sowa Pan. The place will be all the more enchanting as you will probably be the only visitor, so little is known about this island. It is advisable to be perfectly autonomous.
