ZANGTO PELRI LAKHANG

Located in the heart of the city of Phuentsholing, a few steps from the Bhutan-India Gate, the Zangto Pelri Lhakhang is next to a flowery park. This temple is said to be a reproduction of Guru Rinpoche's heavenly home. The edifice is not of great interest in itself: it has a fine collection of statues and paintings by Padmasambhava and other Bhutanese saints. But the atmosphere here is very pleasant: one never tires of watching the faithful operating the prayer wheels. Their tinkling and the beauty of the park make it an invigorating stopover.
