A hiking trail takes 10 minutes to reach two impressive waterfalls, Kahuna and Akaka.
A 30-minute drive from Hilo, on Highway 19, slightly north of Honomu. A hiking trail, set in the middle of a lush and fragrant rainforest, provides access in 10 minutes to two impressive waterfalls: Kahuna (124 m) and Akaka (137 m). Toilets and picnic area near the parking lot. To avoid paying 10 US$ per car in addition to the entrance fee, just park on the side of the road before the parking barriers. In the morning, rainbows form with the arrival of the sun, the spectacle is worth the detour.

La hauteur de la cascade est impressionnante et vaut le détour ! La balade pour y accéder est super facile est assez courte.

La plus impressionnante cascade d’Hawaii en hauteur! On peu commencer à m’apercevoir depuis le parking mais il vous faudra marcher 10-15min pour la voir au grand complet. Une petite marche dans la jungle Hawaiianne, très belle! N’oubliez pas l’anti moustique! L’entrée est de $1 par personne ou si vous venez en voiture alors c’est $5 pour la voiture avec entrée incluse.
