In the days when Terlingua was a well-inhabited town, this mud building was a movie theater. Built in the 1930s, it was abandoned when the surrounding mines ceased to operate and the population left town. Over the years, the roof collapsed but the place was reinstated in the 1960s, becoming the first open-air bar-restaurant in the area. Today, it serves good Tex-Mex food and plenty to drink. On the outside porch, musicians gather to play.

Au mois de juin, notre voyage au Texas au et Nouveau-Mexique, nous a amenés, mon mari et moi, à dîner au Starlight Theater à Terlingua : excellente idée ! Après quelques difficultés à trouver le restaurant dans cette ville-fantôme et au détour de paysages magnifiques, nous nous sommes trouvés dans un lieu hors du temps : musique country, bonne cuisine, service agréable et rapide, une ambiance western incontestable. Le lieu est fréquenté par les locaux et il était bondé, étonnant pour une ville loin de tout mais gage de bonne qualité ! Nous y avons passé une excellente soirée.
