The state's largest historical museum featuring a section on the state's history since its founding in Canyon.
Located less than 17 miles south of Amarillo, it is the largest history museum in the state. Since its opening in 1933, the museum has collected more than two million objects. Its collections allow visitors to travel back in time, from the most recent era to the Jurassic period (more than 150 million years ago), passing through the history of the American Indians of the Great Plains, the colonization period and the oil and gas exploitation period.
