Do as the others do: support the weird and wacky originality of the Texan capital with this fun-filled festival!
One Saturday a year in June, this festival celebrates Austin's originality, as its name suggests ("keep Austin weird"). On the program: music, local crafts, costume contests and marathons. The event aims to raise funds to preserve Austin's green spaces and its many independent and local businesses. The slogan refers to the famous phrase uttered on the radio in 2000 by an Austin native, who was keen to make a donation to support local radio on the grounds that it would "keep Austin original".
