For those who don't want to go through a hotel, the best place in the area to go fishing is the Copano Bay Causeway State Park. It's nothing more or less than a derelict bridge that stretches for almost 4 km, providing an ideal location over the water. You have to drive along Highway 35 for 5 miles from the Rockport exit to get there.
