The best Mardi Gras celebration in Texas is in Galveston. Nearly 500,000 people attend the festivities each year, which begin several weeks before. Sure, it's not like New Orleans, but it's still very festive and fun. Parade floats pass through the crowded main streets, where people dressed up in floats throw the famous beads to the crowd, who have to catch as many as possible.
