It is an almost indispensable step in order to better understand everything you will see, feel, believe you understand, and experience during your stay in Louisiana. Huge, very well supplied, attractive and interactive, this museum goes through everything. History from prehistory (Poverty Point) to Governor Huey Long, the Civil and World Wars, slavery and the struggle for civil rights for people of color, the richness of Louisiana's biodiversity and, of course, the entire cultural heritage of Louisiana.

Musée généraliste où l'on trouve un peu de tout; de la cabine d'un bateau au 19 ème siècle, à l'uniforme et au drapeau de l'officier sudiste, aux meubles venus des Indes, à la cérémonie du thé, aux croquis du botaniste Audubon.Une brève évocation du travail dans les champs de coton .
