Staff was extremely rude and not helpful. The indoor pool is so cold it is painful, when asking staff about it there was not any care or information provided. The wife asked about a hot tub, they looked at her like she was stupid (as if she should know) and then realizing she asked if they had one on property they finally said no. They were asked for information about the area as well as about Marriott in New Orleans and told my wife to call them and find out or check Google. Rooms were adequate, the bed was the best part. Breakfast was a joke, no eggs or egg items when we showed up, the person filling up the bins was barely moving to bring food. I'm definitely using Marriott as a last resort if at all in the future.
I enjoyed my weekend stay. The hotel was fine; I would stay again if I needed to. I selected this location because it was convenient to eateries and next to the interstate. The breakfast was exceptional. The rooms were okay and spacious; my only concern is that they need updating. Another concern is the safety of the building; several times, I found the doors cracked open with rocks or some makeshift stopper; however, not once did I feel as if my safety was at risk. With that being said, I would come back.
Stayed for 1 night to be close to Spine Center. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. It's off the main drag, so it is quiet but close enough to restaurants and medical facilities (if that's why you're staying). Above all, the cost was very reasonable.
There was this chemical smell that hits you as soon as we opened our hotel room door. It was like a chemical deodorant but a horrible antiseptic smell. Otherwise the room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Weird furniture layout. But breakfast was the worst. They have the covered food warmers filled with jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches still in the wrappers. So the cheese inside melted and got all over the inside of the wrappers. They also had boiled eggs that were partially frozen and dripping wet.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First the staff didn't want to allow me to check in because I didn't use a chain bank as such as capital one, regions or chase. Despite both cards presented being a banking debit card and credit card. With FDIC being printed and my name on the cards. She said said no third party cards whatever that meant, I'm assuming prepaid cards none of which I had. Also when I tried to show proof of the amount transaction charged to my account after being told deposit was being charged when my card had already been charged $60 over the rate. The hotel associate rudely refused. Then drilled us with questions of if we were going to be having parties or animals in the room or if we'd be smoking. Ironically, The room reeked of smoke and their solution was febreze despite my complaints of being asthmatic. Said it probably is coming in from another room through the vents as if that would stop an asthma attack. Then the window didn't have a glass, it was boarded up with a thin piece of plywood. The staff was rude especially the night associate. They tried to lie about extra available room options & switching my reservation to my bonvoy account from my friends. It took a friend who works for marriot calling for them to even do that action. After asking to be moved to a nearby TownePlace another room magically opened for us to move. And after being promised I would be compensated with points by corporate, I was later told no because the hotel denied the allegations. A very unacceptable action for such a horrible experience. Something has to be done. They need to be shut down. A simple look at reviews would show how terrible people have been complaining about the location. Something i wish i would have looked at before booking. Never Again
This is one of the worst Marriott branded hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

Pros:
The staff was as accommodating as could be.
Full sized refrigerator
Cons:
Smell of cigarettes throughout entire building
Dirty carpets
Broken or worn furniture
Pool water was yellowish
Random people standing out front at all times of day & night
Our room was an “upgrade”, I can only imagine what the standard room looked like.
The room had too much moisture, not sure how that happens but the floor was wet.
We decided to tuff it out since we came for a quick business trip but it was the worst.
All of the linens were damp due to the moisture in the air.
I try not to be a rewards snob, but at least give me a bottle of water or something for platinum status. I understand room upgrades might not be available all the time, but a room with a leaky shower and roaches doesn't seem like that should be the standard. I didn't see much evidence of "newly remodeled ".
This location has potential to be better, I just hope they follow through with their improvements.
Once you get used to the skunky weed scent that is present nearly everywhere... It's not too awful for a single night. Can't imagine staying consecutive nights.
I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I DO NOT recommend staying here. This was the sketchiest, most disgusting hotel property I've ever been to... there were people hanging out all over the parking lot smoking various things, the building was filthy, but the worst part was the overwhelming smell of both cigarette and marijuana smoke inside the room, hallways, the parking lot, and lobby (and who knows what else I was smelling.) We had to leave after only being there a couple hours because the smell was completely unbearable. There also appeared to be "permanent guests" living in some the rooms and they made no effort to hide it... we stayed on the 3rd floor and there were "welcome" mats and decor outside some of the rooms! The elevator did not work - while a minor annoyance for us, it's a huge issue for ADA compliance. When I notified the front desk they said "oh yeah, it doesn't work, you have to use the stairs." Which we did - we hauled our luggage up to the third floor.
We arrived at about 2:00 PM and checked out by 5:00 PM that same night. We travel 10-15 times a year with sports, we are Bonvoy elite members, and have alway had great experiences with Marriott. But we have much higher expectations than this garbage dump.
When I approached the lady at the front desk and told her we would need to check out immediately and cancel the rest of our stay, she was very polite and didn't really question me. She actually didn't seem shocked at all... she just did as I asked and said she completely understands my frustration. She asked minimal questions and made it seem like she would attempt to address the issue. Her politeness and help getting us check out quickly was appreciated, but her lack of concern just said that she knows that it's a dump.
I contacted Marriott by phone and via the website to formally document a complaint. The corporate office has been great with following up so far, in just the 24 hours since we were there - I will continue to follow up until this property has been investigated. Not only did this property feel unsanitary, unwelcoming, and unhealthy... it felt unsafe and is not representative of the Marriott brand we expect.
I stayed one night here and i must say it was a wonderful stay! Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by welcoming staff at the front desk. Check in was fast and easy. When I got to my room I was impressed by how clean the room was. I will be booking again!
This place definitely met my expectations! The room was spacious & clean, the service was so nice & welcoming & the breakfast was the BEST!! Will definitely stay again!!
My previously stay with this hotel was great. Front desk staff are very welcoming. (Your kindness is appreciated) Therefore, I decided to bring my family to enjoy this property this time. Total embarrassment. ???? The room was tidy but the floor was filthy. My Mom and I literally had to go get a mop to clean the floors. Then we noticed roaches. We had to make sure our luggage was zipped up so it wouldn’t travel with us. We were up off and on all night due to the constant noise of kids running the hall and up and down the stairs. Our room was 118. I wouldn’t recommend you to stay away from this hotel. But ensure that you’re not by the stairs and the bug issues has been handled.
I am only giving this place a two because our initial room was crawling with bugs. It was totally unbelievable to see so many bugs in a hotel room. The room was clean, but it appeared that it was a swarming period for these little guys to come out to mate and shed their wings.. We were unsure from where they came, but it was at least 100 of them in the window area. Which we assumed we disturbed when we first checked in and opened the curtains. They may have been termites coming from the walls....who knows but they were migrating to the bed and pillows. It looked like something from the Creep Show.
We were moved to a different building and room, which worked out but made me somewhat paranoid to go to sleep comfortably.
While the new room did not have signs of the bugs initially, however, we did find at least four of them in the bathroom shower area. We stayed for four nights and did not see anymore.
The shower repeatedly flooded the bathroom floor, which required constant requests of room towels to dry the floor.
The cleaning ladies were helpful and thorough. The initial front desk receptionist , who checked us in, was cordial and polite. Breakfast was acceptable.
