Occupying the former Rum House space, SoLou is one of the hottest new gourmet addresses in Louisiana's capital. The abundance of plants, the furniture that looks very mid-century, a terrace with a wall that inspires beautiful Instagram photos, a menu that highlights local traditions but also flavors from around the world: this is all SoLou. Mention also to the brunch with its cocktails and good small dishes (waffle and fried chicken, alligator creole sauce with grits, etc.). An address a little far from the center but worth the detour.
