Founded in 2008, São Tomé's national airline offers one return flight a week between Lisbon and the island's capital. It also offers a regular service between São Tomé and the island of Príncipe, with nine round trips per week between the two destinations. The journey takes just 40 minutes. From the air, the panoramic views of the two islands are exceptional. The company has just one aircraft, a Boeing 767 leased from its parent company, EuroAtlantic Airways. It is generally punctual.

Afrijet, whose majority shareholder is now the Gabonese state, recently launched two round-trip flights between Sao Tomé and Príncipe, on Thursdays and Sundays. The journey takes around 45 minutes. Depending on the weather, the plane often takes off early or late, without the company informing its passengers. The flight is very pleasant aboard a beautiful new-generation ATR 72-600. A sandwich and a drink are offered on board. The arrival at Príncipe is splendid, flying over its rugged coastline and lush countryside.
