POZA DE LAS DIABLAS

These small bodies of salt water were formed when lava collapsed on the coastal areas, allowing seawater to flow inland and form sandbars that now serve as a barrier between the ocean and the lagoons. Mangroves have joined with various species of herbaceous plants to stabilize the substrate and maintain these water reservoirs. It is one of the main sites for observing and breeding pink flamingos. A path goes around this lagoon where they live quietly.
