Center dedicated to protecting these endangered reptiles

Isabela is the only site in the world where 5 different species of giant tortoises are found. In this breeding, one can observe turtles of all ages, the center having for objective the protection of these endangered reptiles. A vocation put to shame in 2018 when 123 baby turtles were stolen from the center without ever being found. Note that in March 2021, 185 baby turtles were seized at the Santa Cruz airport in a suitcase bound for Guayaquil...

Sentier vers le centre très agréable où l’on peut voir des flamants roses et autres oiseaux. Nombreuses tortues et explications intéressantes sur la préservation.
