PUNTA MORENO

To the south of Elizabeth Bay is Punta Moreno; natural pools are carved out of the lava and are home to flamingos, Bahamian ducks, blue herons and pelicans. The easiest way to get there is by boat, but it is also possible to get there by land. It is the end of a huge lava field that comes from the distant Cerra Azul volcano. It is a very popular excursion, as it combines the discovery of coastal species with a beautiful hike in the middle of incredible landscapes from another world.
