DIRECCIÓN DEL PARQUE NACIONAL GALÁPAGOS

This is the official office of the Galapagos National Park. You will find a lot of information about excursions as well as about the fauna and flora of the islands. The Galapagos Park was created on May 14, 1936 and classified as a national park in 1959. The wish of the Government is to preserve the fauna and the flora of the archipelago, of harmful actions which could be led by the man. It was decreed that 97% of the archipelago's land would be protected, i.e. a total of 800 000 ha.
