Reserve covering 51,350 ha and home to five manglar species
This reserve covers 51,350 ha and is home to five species of mangroves (manglares). Among them is the highest mangrove forest in the world: Manglares de Majagual (near La Tola and Olmedo). In June and July, many species of migratory birds pass through this area. You can go to the beautiful beach of San Pedro, not far from the Colombian border; it is therefore necessary to inquire about the security conditions before going there.
