Today, the Torre Morisca is one of the city's symbols, recognized throughout the country
This beautiful and high tower with a Moorish look was used to watch over the surroundings, and to give the alert in case of pirate attacks (very frequent). Destroyed by successive tidal waves, rebuilt in 1930, today it simply tells the time... and gives a touch of Andalusia to the walk. This clock dates from 1842, when it was imported from England to be installed in place of the Jesuit clock on the façade of the Cabildo. Today, the Torre Morisca is one of the symbols of the city, recognized throughout the country.
