SOMBREROS BARBERÁN

Since 1942, this local company has been selling toquilla straw hats (or Panama hats) made in Montecristi, on the Pacific coast. Today, Jouberth Barberan, son of the founder, but already 81 years old, is at the head of this emblematic hat factory in Guayaquil. He will be delighted to explain the manufacturing methods and especially to tell you many anecdotes about his travels in search of the best weavers in the Manabi region.
