CAFE ATENAS

Located not far from the Catedral San Carlos Borromeo and the Teatro Sauto, Cafe Atenas is certainly one of the best addresses in Matanzas in its category. Very popular with locals and tourists alike, the terrace, which is wide open on the square, usually attracts a lot of people. On the menu, a very simple and rather well-made Italian cuisine (don't expect a pizza like in Naples either) revolving around pizzas and pasta dishes. Also on the menu, the traditional pollo a la cubana (Cuban style chicken).
