WAT PIPHETTHEARAM

The monastery, which is still in function, is of homogeneous structure and well maintained. This modern temple is worth a visit, if only to understand what a "modern" Buddhist temple is. The vihear has a "Battambang style" roof with overhanging gables and is decorated with sobriety. Giants protect the southern and northern doors (the latter is hidden). The whole is quite harmonious, presenting a silhouette that stands out from the neighboring buildings but blends well into the landscape of Battambang.
