Phnom Penh : Discover

Of all the capital cities in Southeast Asia, Phnom Penh is undoubtedly the one that has developed the most in recent years. The once tranquil city on the banks of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers had a long way to go. Today, investments are pouring in and the city is modernizing at a rapid pace. The city is changing, and is now a mixture of impressive skyscrapers that make you dizzy, and small traditional streets with merchants' stalls. Phnom Penh is well worth a visit of several days. Firstly, to visit its museums, including the fascinating Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and its Royal Palace, then for its architecture, with its mix of old French colonial buildings and modern contemporary projects. And finally, for the bustle of the city, with its many markets, French bistros, streetfood stalls and riverside promenades, and to enjoy the peaceful pace of Cambodian life.
