Gothic and neo-Gothic style church built in 1873 where Benjamin Franklin was baptized in Boston
This Gothic and neo-Gothic church was built in 1873. With its magnificent stained glass windows, it is worth a little detour. Its congregation dates back to 1669, when it counted among its faithful the descendants of pilgrims. Benjamin Franklin was baptized in this church (it was then located in the Old South Meeting House) and, at the dawn of the War of Independence, the patriots gave their speeches here. More recently, in 2004, the church became the first in Boston to officiate a same-sex marriage.
