NEWPORT KITE FESTIVAL

Over a weekend, the sky fills with colour as Brendon Point State Park hosts the kite enthusiasts' favourite festival. In addition to being multicoloured, the kites take on every imaginable shape: turtles, octopuses, mermaids, superheroes and other horses invade the sky and seem to race. Some are simply huge! If you don't have your own kite, don't panic: there are stands selling kites everywhere. Children will love it.
