A real Baltimore institution! People travel from all over Maryland to taste Miss Shirley's famous breakfast. However, the restaurant is not just a tourist destination: at lunchtime, holidaymakers rub shoulders with the white collars of the surrounding offices. With all these people, you have to expect to wait a little while before picking up a table in the slightly retro look of the room. It is not great gastronomy but a good and generous cuisine that highlights the flagship products and dishes of Chesapeake Bay, such as the must-have crab cake, and southern food. Don't miss cocktails, especially Mimosa, which Americans love for brunch, or a spicy version of Bloody Mary.
