Opened since 2004, this memorial, bathed in light, consists of a large central fountain and numerous small monuments representing the states involved in mobilization. A wall of gold stars symbolizes the fallen American soldiers. This memorial is strangely a place full of life during the beautiful season with the children running and the rooms that have their feet in the water.

Comme la majorité des monuments du Mall, le National World War II Monument est assez bien conçu et beaucoup moins austère que les monuments Français.

C'est là que l'on se rend compte que les Etasuniens ont fait la guerre tous seuls et que la propagande en ce sens existe bel et bien ! Ceci dit, monument magnifique avec de nombreuses cérémonies de commémoration. Les hommes en noir de "Men in Black" existent bel et bien.
