This huge (and non-Catholic) episcopal cathedral in neo-Gothic style (with gargoyles) is the 6 th largest in the world. It was completed in the 1990 s, but it does more than its age. Built according to a cross plan, it is a construction to the impressive massive aspect. The interior is pretty beautiful. The exterior is also pleasant (gardens, benches). A lift takes you to the top of the building. Since the earthquake which damaged its nave, access is paid in the week.

Magistrale, imposante et belle. Si on cherche bien sur sa façade extérieure on peut y voir Dark Vador en personne!!!

La Cathedrale Nationale de Washington a servi d'eglise pour les services religieux ayant une dimension nationale, comme les enterrements officiels. Architecturellement, la Cathedrale ressemble a une version Disneyenne de ce que l'Amerique pense qu'une Cathedrale gothique Europeenne devrait avoir l'air. Avec la difference que les personnages honores par vitraux et autres marques sont des personnages historiques americains, et non des saints.

Je ne l'ai pas visitée car je trouvais l'entrée chère mais la cathédrale est superbe. J'ai eu beau chercher, je n'ai pas trouvé la gargouille "Star Wars". Ce n'est pourtant pas faute d'avoir demandé. Mais elle est bien sur mes photos puisqu'en désespoir de cause j'ai photographié toutes les gargouilles !
Very beautiful this cathedral, I had the luck, when I went the first time to attend mass accompanied by singing gospel, and it is very nice with assistance. I have a beautiful memory of) it;
