Great creativity is shown in ultra-gourmet and tasty pastries in a family atmosphere.
The clientele is rather feminine and family oriented at Mimi. Its blue and white colours are tinted here and there with a pink chandelier or a rather kitschy black mirror. In the morning (brunch or breakfast), as well as at lunch (toasted sandwiches, soups, daily specials for all tastes) and in the afternoon (afternoon tea not to be missed!), the pastries are to be dropped and the dishes prepared with care. Children's menus will please families. Great creativity is evident in the proposals, each one more delicious and tasty than the last!

Located in a charming street along the river Water of Leith, north of Edinburgh, Mimi's Bakehouse is a tea room we like: warm and gourmet, it is the type of place where you want to take refuge when it is cold and it rains. It is also a restaurant with original dishes, prepared and served with love; a place where the owner prepares you with a smile and a small pleasant cappuccino with moss thick and decorated with flowers or a heart (for girls), where you can admire the long string of cakes and " traybakes" while listening to the passionate explanation of guests (far more adapted to appoint these charming waitresses), before you tempted by the double carrot cake glazed with lime or the generous cheesecake with the oréos, or by huge scones, whose secret recipe offers some of the best of Scotland. But mostly, Mimi's Bakehouse is a family-run restaurant, in which you are greeted like a cousin far or an aunt's hidden from view, where the owner will always have time to sit down to tell you the history of a family of pastry chefs and where you can laze all afternoon on sofas with pink cushions to drink tea and soak up the communicative good humour of the large family of Mimi.

La décoration est aussi intéressante et nous fait faire un petit saut en dans le temps. Je recommande vivement cet établissement. Un petit conseil tout de même: pensez à réserver dans le période d'affluence.
