Monastery in the heart of a green environment with a Cistercian church and a beautiful cloister

Among the outbuildings of this monastery, renovated in 2011, are a 13th-century Cistercian church and a beautiful 17th-century cloister, in the heart of a green environment. But the centrepiece of the complex is a little further back, in the middle of the meadows: the 9th-century church of San Salvador, a perfect example of Asturian pre-Romanesque art, provides an introduction to this original architecture, which is mainly found around Oviedo.
