A former mining platform of the railroad transformed into a greenway to walk or bike
An old mining platform of the railway, which transported iron from the Galdames mines to Sestao, has been transformed into a "greenway" to be travelled on foot or by bicycle. This programme of rehabilitation of the area makes it possible to enjoy the green nature of the Basque Country. Built in 1876, the route of this railway was the longest in its time (22.5 km). Its operation ceased in 1968. It now belongs to the Montes de Hierro greenway network.
