Along these watery trails, hikers explore unforgettable panoramas. The capital Funchal enchants with its colonial charm, its white walls gleaming in the sunlight. As you move further away, Madeira reveals its wild coastline and villages perched on mountainsides. As for swimming, the "natural pools" offer a welcome coolness, as does the long white sandy beach of Porto Santo, the neighbouring island.
